The Flag Ceremony is a ritual, symbolizing patriotism, respect, and reverence for American institutions. It includes a color guard of 3 Scouts carrying flags, a leader to issue instructions, and a recital of the Scout Oath and Law.

LEADER: “Audience, Please Rise!”
LEADER: “Scouts, Salute! For those not in uniform, please place your right hand on your heart”
LEADER: “Color Guard, Forward March!”
Wait for color guard to reach the “X”
LEADER: “Color Guard, Halt!”
LEADER: “Color Guard, Cross the Colors!”
Wait for (1) U.S. flag, then (2) VA flag, then (3) Pack flag to cross to their flag stands.
LEADER: “Color Guard, post the flag of the United States of America!”
Scout puts U.S. flag in stand, salutes the flag
LEADER: “Color Guard, post the flag of the Commonwealth of Virginia!”
Scout puts Virginia flag in stand, salutes U.S. flag
LEADER: “Color Guard, post the flag of Pack 637”
Scout puts Pack flag in stand, salutes U.S. flag
LEADER: “Please recite the Pledge of Allegiance!”
LEADER: drops salute; “TWO!”

Flag bearers salute the US flag, turn, and walk together straight to the back of the room
LEADER: “Audience, please be seated!”
The U.S. Flag has 13 stripes, 50 stars:
Blue stands for vigilance & justice
Red stands for courage & sacrifice of others
White stands for liberty & purity of ideals
Don’t let the flag touch the ground, or put anything on top of it. Fold it to transport it. When torn or dirty, burn or bury it.
The Virginia Flag depicts virtuous female, standing over a fallen King. Adopted in 1861, "Sic Semper Tyrannis“ means thus always to tyrants. Virginia's Colonial heritage is very proud of its contributions to the Revolutionary war (1776-1783).
Scout salute uses 2 fingers, symbolizes the the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and can be used by Scouts to great other Scouts
Scout sign looks like 2 wolf ears, and stands for the Scout Oath and Scout Law
